Transporte de la llama Olímpica.
Alguna vez se preguntaron cómo se transporta la llama olímpica en avión debido
a los altos protocolos de seguridad requeridos para llevar elementos peligrosos
y sustancias inflamables y así para evitar incendios abordo. Para solucionar
esto se debió estudiar, crear nuevas reglas y métodos para la el traslado de
llama olímpica. Se llegó a la conclusión que el método que mejor se adaptaba es
utilizar la lámpara de seguridad minera, esta se ubica en una estructura
especial de soporte asegurada a un asiento común del avión. Esta lámpara tiene
la particularidad de evitar el contacto directo de la llama con el gas del
ambiente, para ello posee una red o malla metálica de alambre alrededor de la
llama para absorber el calor la misma y un cilindro de chapa con agujeros
cubriendo la red en la parte superior para mejorar su aislamiento. Museo
