Impactita


 Tectita: Impactita. Nombre derivado del griego “Tektos” que significa fundido. Vidrio natural de color gris a negro producido por impacto de meteorito. En su composición se destaca baja presencia de agua y zircón fundido. Este material puede encontrarse a cientos de kilómetros fuera del sitio de impacto. Se encuentran en América del Norte, Europa Central, África Occidental, Australia y Asia, se le da distintos nombres según su localización (Ej. Indochinita, filipinita, australita). Edad: Según localidad entre 0,7 y 35 millones de años. Uso ornamental.

Tektite: Impactite. Name derived from the Greek "Tektos" which means melted. Natural gray to black glass produced by meteorite impact. Its composition highlights the low presence of water and molten zircon. This material can be hundreds of kilometers away from the impact site. They are found in North America, Central Europe, West Africa, Australia and Asia, they are given different names depending on their location (Indochinite, Filipinite, Australite). Age: According to locality between 0.7 and 35 million years. Ornamental use.
